Dance, little one within

Adolescent barefoot on beach, facing sunset, arms raised in creative dance.

Dance!

dance with your eyes wide open

your fingertips sizzle

on the embers of the air

Dance-

dance-

dance with your heart ablaze

to the turmoils of the world

and the wonders, dance -

with your belly an ocean

drinking in all the light and all the dark

and all the waters in between,

dance-

with your feet aloft

above the planet, afloat on

cushions of rhythmic air, dance-

with your body in ecstatic motion

your soul a spiral

the twine of energies

and then, dance some more-

in silence

eyes gently closed

your lashes the gateway

hands clasped

with the tiny bird

of hope promised between

your palms, dance-

your heels, your toes

planted in the living soil

of the planet, dance-

with wind in your hair

love, clearly, dwells here

and compassion, goodness, goodness!-

and harmonious surrender

your core sways

like luminous blossoms on the breeze

and you, you dazzling, utmost,

effervescent beings,

just- you-dance.

Preschool girl in ballet pose with clasped hands toward ceiling and one foot extended.
